So after a successful sight unseen Manheims salvage sale bid at $1200 (Plus fees) we have our very own shitbox. The rally starts in Canberra and our current plan is to drive down to the start line, some 1200km's away... the finish line after a gruelling ~3700 Through the backroads of Australia, fair mix of dirt and bitumen, is Townsville...which happens to be 1300km's from home back in Brisbane..The car was delivered yesterday and pretty happy with the result, a major fright when I opened the bonnet to find a wee passenger, a python! It has disappeared for now, so its either in the backyard or its coming along for the ride.There is quite a bit of work to do to get the car roadworthy, but will hopefully be all straight forward. It starts and runs which is a huge relief!
