Dusty Busters

We are so excited that we have been accepted into the autumn 2025 rally. And even more so that we have found our car to get going. Details and photos to come. Hint; it’s an ecto-1 try hard. Hence the “busters” in our team name. Sandra and I will be getting out there for our first ever rally, so follow us and support us anyway you can. We have lost precious people to cancer and we have family and friends dealing with it now. Who doesn’t!

Dusty Busters

So we finally got our car "sort of" running (new battery, new tyres, new windscreen) and registered, but when we tried to bring it back home, we discovered that maybe it wasn't running quite as well as we'd hoped! We did as much as we could ourselves; changed the oil filter & oil, dropped out the coolant, cleaned out & topped up the radiator, dropped out & replaced the fuel, but it continued to cough and splutter.....what did we do next?

We decided that going backwards and forwards to Sydney to work on the car was a bit time consuming, so we got the team from "Loaders Towing" to bring the car back to Bathurst so we could figure it out. Once back, our dear friend Sean Kelly from SRK Engineering came to our assistance in lending us a car trailer to bring the car back to O'Connell and figuring that it the vehicle required a new fuel pump. Sean donated all his time and parts for the vehicle to our cause....what a legend! And with that, our Shitbox is officially up and running and sounding like an absolute BEAST!

Dusty Busters

We've had a busy few weeks with our fundraising and with the car! We had a huge boost to our fundraising goals thanks to the members of our community. We were the recipients of the proceeds of the Bowyer & Livermore donated Mega Meat Tray Raffle at the O'Connell Hotel, where not only did the punters show up in their droves and buy heaps of tickets, the proprietors of the hotel matched the proceeds, dollar for dollar. We then went on to have a massive band night at Reckless Brewing BX on Valentine's night, where we raffled off locally donated goods and also benefited from the proceeds of a karma keg. Once all these funds hit our account, we will have surpassed our target! But we're not done yet! The car is looking sensational with it's new Cancer Council Shitbox Rally stickers on board. Thanks for all the support peeps! Keep those donations coming!
