Boombox boomers

Some weeks later we've managed to do some repairs and decorate to our "Shitbox". We're yet to replace the tyres acquire roadworthy and registration. The promotion material has now been prepared and we're on our way to do our bit to cure cancer! We can't do it alone. Boombox boomers

The story so far:We've been accepted into the rally for 2025 Autumn run. We searched the internet for a suitable shitbox but eventually found an old paddock basher through a family connection in Canberra. A one eyed 1998 Falcon Wagon with nearly 400,000 km on the clock. It also had a farm tractor sit on its bonnet at some stage.Jeff & George hooked up the car trailer and travelled from Alstonville to Canberra to collect it. The trip back to Alstonville encounter a separated tyer on the car trailer but otherwise uneventful. The task now is the make any repairs needed for a roadworthy certificate and registration. This involves a thorough clean, fix oil leaks, knock out and straighten panel damage and replace the tyers. The motor and transmission seem ok, so far!Next is to dress the wagon in a "Boombox Boomers" theme. This may require plastering the vehicle with stuff from our Baby Boomer era and rows of speakers on the roof racks. Stay tuned for updates.

We've managed to reach our first target of $2500 donations after only a couple of days from our fund raising launch. Thanks everyone. Thanks to everyone that's coming aboard to help us raise as much funds as possible so the Cancer Council can direct said funds to areas that will be of most benefit in advancing the fight and finding a cure. We've now surpassed the minimum target of $5000 donations to partake in the Shitbox Rally, but we still have our target of $50,000 to reach.
